Hello. My name is Neal Geisler. As an artist, I try to have fun with my work. To do so, you need a medium that lets you create with comfort. For me, wood is that vessel of creation. I have always had an inclination towards trees and wood, but the past few years I have been supported to start furthering my studies of this magnificent substance and to express my creativity through it in my shop. I search always for the finest cut, most exquisite grain and figure, or just the shape of a piece that has something to say. I love exotic woods with tropical colors and older specimens with a story to tell.

As a craftsman guided by the modern age, I like the use of power tools to create. Although as an artist and perfectionist, I create my vision with whatever tools I see fit to accomplish the task. This means that I sometimes revert to older methods and techniques in order to achieve my goals in the finished product. In my work, I try to accentuate the beauty of the wood without dissecting the piece to unrecognizable slivers, or by burying the natural luster with acrylics and urethane's. When I am creating, I prefer to use and recall images and memories of nature, music, thoughts of my family, friends, pets and especially the visions I have seen in my airborne experiences. I get to express love and anger when I work which enables me to be free in thinking and to be eccentric with my ideas.

When I began my vision of Sierra Craft, I wanted to create one of a kind solid wood art. Something that a family or individual can look at for a lifetime while enjoying natures' beauty. I wanted everything cataloged and serial numbered with attention paid to every detail, right down to the correct genus and species of the wood itself. When you purchase a Sierra Craft piece, I want you to know what you are getting and that it is special, not only to you, but was special to me first. I give you my best.
