I'm Neal Geisler, my dog Kiki and I reside in Jackson, CA. I started Sierra Craft Designs over 10 years ago in the pursuit of expression and officially put a title on what I have been doing my entire life; designing and creating my visions. There is just something special about finely hand crafted art; the transfering of ones thoughts through their hands, painstakingly reviewing each detail as if it were plans to be followed. It is a great feeling to achieve your minds goal and is reflected in what you create. I personally admire art and collect it with a passion; I have been fortunate enough to feed off of this, fueling my own artistic drive. I have found ways to express my creativity through my professions outside of Sierra Craft as both an arborist and carpenter by taking on jobs where the call for aesthetics and functionality meet. To me, the thrill is in the challenges and attempt to co-exist with natures.

Years ago in my journey through life, I discovered a focus on fabrication, construction and re-furbishing in several professions, including; automotive, aeronautical, foundry, machinist and press operator. I bought my first car at 15 and tore it apart in the pursuit of restoration. While for years I believed my talents in the art world lay solely in music, a fire inside of me burned as an athlete to pursue professions more physical in nature and demanding on both mind and body. After I gained my pilot certificate, I began to see my work evolve; through travels and life experience, the persistence to reflect nature emerged. I admire anatomy, am a huge animal enthusiast and marine life astounds me; rhythm, beauty...life and death...an expression that cannot be possessed.

The work here on this site reflects an artist; change is constant and evolution embraced. I love wood, and as my primary medium am inspired by the beauty of the grain and the timeless stories that accompany many of my works. While for years I focused on creating with it alone, I began to integrate metals and stone and since have started various paintings on steel and canvas. My drive has always been assemblage and 3D sculpture, bringing my filter for refined construction. I now strive too express myself in any form that captures the feeling. From the moody and sensual to whimsical and timeless; creations from pure ambition and imagination. Thank you for your time.

Aloha!
